It's hot here, in Big Hipster City. Hot and muggy. I can deal with heat, I can't deal with humidity. It makes me cranky and mean almost instantly. Not to mention it does terrible things for my skin and hair. And being that it's hot, that means it's time for summer shoes. I can't wear flip flops any more. At least not comfortably. Too many injuries over the years to the arches of my feet. So I look for alternatives.
I've been in love with these:

Made by Remix Vintage Shoes, and available in a variety of colors and fabric choices for the hefty sum of $158.00. I've seen them up close, I've tried them on and look longingly at them. Then I've put them back in their box and left them on the table at the convention. I simply could never justify $158 for heels.
So imagine my joy when I found these:

Designed by Patricia Field for a Sex In the City Movie Promotion with Payless, for $35.00!! Two day shipping knocked it up another $6.00...
Yes, they are silver and gold (gak) and as Best Boy pointed out, they do look like something a trailer queen would wear... But darn it, some times you just want trashy!!
I just made a new dress they will go smashingly with. Ooh, and I just found this one on Etsy.com. New, unused and at an insanely good bargin price.

I've got a gray and black leopard print that it will look divine in!
And oh, yes, I've been sewing. I'll post pictures shortly.
