Today is my first day off in ages. Or at least it seems that way. The Grown-Up Job doesn't want me on the clock because it will cost them an arm and a leg to have me. The Fancy Gourmet Grocery was nice enough not to schedule me. I've been there so much that I do really need a day not being there. Ideally followed by another day not being there.
Best Boy is working at the theater this morning rebuilding stages and designing sets. Big Furry Dog is curled up on the couch alternately napping and watching CNN and then periodically checking on Big Fat Cat. Who is behind the recliner spying on Big Furry Dog.
And what am I doing? Well I promised myself what I would not do; A) No extreme cleaning. B) No day spent in front of the computer, because I do that enough every day. C) No thinking about work related issues for either job.
Instead, I am sewing. And taking small breaks to peak at various blogs and check out web addresses given to me by Fabulous Food Queen the other night over drinks. I've got a new dress completely cut out. Fabric for about six more sitting on the floor and stack of pre-determined patterns next to it. Next to hit the table. Cherry print cotton to be turned into a pencil Skirt. Leopard print cotton to meet the same fate. Heavy black cotton that I wish I'd bought the entire bold of to make into Capri pants.
What else will I do? I don't know. Best boy and I debated having people over. However the cave is too small to comfortably have visitors for any length of time. Instead we will probably back up Big Furry Dog and go down the Lake and watch the fireworks with 5 million of our closest friends.
